Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is ClassCake free?

Yes. ClassCake is free for classrooms.

Do my students need accounts?

No. ClassCake is played together on one screen, led by the teacher. There is nothing for students to sign in to and we never ask for student names.

Can students play on their own devices?

ClassCake is designed for Class Mode only: the whole class solving together on the board. That keeps it social, keeps it safe, and means you never have to manage logins.

How long does it take?

Most classes finish all five puzzles in 10 to 15 minutes. You can also do one layer a day at different times: the cake remembers what you have finished.

Which grades is it for?

Kindergarten through grade 8. Pick your grade once on the home page; each puzzle uses that grade's standards and the grade before.

Where is our streak saved?

Only in the browser you play on. If you use a different computer or clear your browsing data, the streak starts over. See privacy.

What happens on weekends and holidays?

Weekends show Friday's cake. School holidays vary by district, so we don't skip them; just pick up the next school day. Streaks only count days you play, and a missed day ends a streak, so treat streaks as a fun goal, not a rule.

Who writes the puzzles?

Each puzzle is generated from carefully built word, science and history banks, checked against its grade's standards, then reviewed for accuracy, reading level and kid-safety. If you spot something wrong, please tell us.

What if we find a mistake?

Please email david@classcake.com with the date of the puzzle, your class's grade, the game and what looked wrong. Please don't include student names. We fix reported problems quickly.

How do I get in touch?

Email david@classcake.com. We read every message.

Can I print puzzles or share them?

Yes, for your own classroom. See the terms of use.

Do you show ads?

No. ClassCake doesn't show ads, and nothing on ClassCake is targeted at children.
